Not sure what to expect? Here are some FAQ’s to get you started. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us directly.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Wear pants and closed-toes shoes (absolutely no sandals or high heels) and nothing meltable (no polyester/vinyl). It’s best to dress in layers, it is warm while working with the hot glass, but the studio can be chilly when you are waiting your turn at the glassblowing bench you may need to dress a little warmer. Please make sure you tie back long hair.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Bring a water bottle with you, I will have water on hand for refills if you run out. You are welcome to bring a little snack with you as well, but please avoid bringing nuts to the studio. Bring your phone or camera! It’s always fun to snap some photos of your experience, and we can take photos of you while you create your object.
WHEN CAN I HAVE MY FINISHED PIECE?
The glass has to cool slowly overnight so you will not be able to take your glass piece home on the day of your workshop. You will be able to pick up your finished piece from the studio three days after your workshop or we can make arrangements for another day for pick-up or shipping if pickup is not an option.
DO YOU TEACH CHILDREN?
For insurance reasons we do not teach glassblowing to anyone younger than 18 years old.
DO YOU TEACH LARGER GROUPS?
We occasionally teach slightly larger groups of 4-8 participants. Though we generally try to keep our class sizes to 4 students in order to maximize time with the instructor, we have options for slightly larger groups. Please contact us directly to chat about a group class.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?
If you need to cancel your class booking, please contact us at least 24 hours before your class by email or by calling/texting 519-924-1551. We do not issue refunds for cancellations less than 24 hours before the class.
